Nadeem Alduaij, MD, MPH
Nadeem is an emergency physician, medical toxicologist, and global health expert with over twenty years of experience transforming health systems across mature and developing healthcare environments. Based in Abu Dhabi, he brings a rare combination of frontline clinical expertise, public health training from Harvard, and hands-on experience building and managing healthcare initiatives.
His work spans the full spectrum of health systems challenges. As a consultant with the Department of Health, Abu Dhabi, he built and launched the country's first poison center, leading its digital transformation to become the world's first fully digital poison control service. Previously, as co-founder and CEO of Sihaty, he designed and operated a digital health platform providing primary care and stigma-sensitive telehealth services across Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, securing $2.2 million in early-stage funding.
Nadeem's clinical foundation runs deep. He has led emergency departments in Kuwait, Switzerland, and the United States, including roles as Chief at Dar Al Shifa Hospital and Associate Chief at Geneva University Hospital and Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital (Milton). His approach to health systems design is grounded in the realities of patient care—he understands what works at the bedside because he's practiced medicine in high-pressure environments across different health systems and cultures.
His consulting expertise focuses on four interconnected areas. In health systems design, he helps organizations architect sustainable models that balance quality, access, and financial viability. For digital health implementation, he guides pragmatic evidence-based technology adoption that improves workflows rather than disrupts them. In policy advisory, he translates evidence into actionable reform strategies, having authored health policy proposals and advised governments across the Arabian Gulf. And in clinical operations, he optimizes clinical workflows, quality metrics, and patient satisfaction through data-driven process improvement.
What distinguishes his approach is the ability to connect dots across disciplines. He founded Baraka Impact Finance, an advisory and data analytics company to facilitate impact investments in global health innovations, building a portfolio of over 300 healthcare ventures. He also established MENATOX, the Middle East and North Africa's leading clinical toxicology association, filling a gap in education, research, and practice standards across 20 countries. And as a Takemi Fellow at Harvard and, later, as a health systems expert, he conducted comprehensive research on health financing mechanisms in Arabian Gulf nations to inform regional policy discussions.
Nadeem works with healthcare organizations, governments, international agencies, and health technology companies, navigating complex transformations. Whether designing national health programs, implementing digital health solutions, or advising on policy reform, he brings a pragmatic, evidence-based approach that prioritizes what actually works over what sounds innovative. His philosophy is simple: think outside the box, connect the dots, understand the facts, and always question dogmas.
He holds an MD from the University of Geneva and an MPH in Global Health Policy from Harvard University. He completed his clinical training at the Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency (BIDMC) and at the Harvard Medical Toxicology Fellowship (Boston Children’s Hospital). He has practiced medicine for over 20 years and served as faculty at Harvard Medical School, UAE University, and Khalifa University.
